The Data Science and Computation Facility is aimed at supporting the Institute scientists in high performance computing tasks and in applying and devising data analysis protocols to experimentally/simulative produced data. The facility manages the high-performance computing infrastructure dubbed ‘Franklin’ which is composed of several CPU and GPU nodes.

In detail the facility personnel:

• manages the high performance computing infrastructure through a cloud-HPC approach;
• supports scientists in the infrastructure usage including but not limited to: code compilation, code execution, code optimization, queues usage and software containerization;
• builds predictive/descriptive data models as enabling tools for supporting research;
• develops frontends (e.g. webservers) of the computational backends for easy serving the internal and external scientific Community.
